The Future of Electric Propulsion
Various manufacturers might claim that a differently built electric motor is more environmentally friendly because it doesn’t use certain materials. But the problem is that all materials require mining and, although not all of them are created equal, each motor has its own environmental footprint to face. In the end, all underlying technology has trade-offs.
A magnetic field is necessary for any motor to work. This is where permanent magnets are incredibly useful because they provide the magnetic field without the need for it to be created with additional energy or designs as is the case with magnetless motors.
Environmentally conscious end users make some responsible choices when they can. They lower their thermostat in the winter and raise it in the summer. This decreases their energy use (with the additional perk of lowering their power bill). Other personal changes include switching to an energy-efficient heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system, replacing windows with multiple-panes glazing, and sealing and insulating ducts and water heaters.

In the current climate companies that reduce the environmental footprint of their commercial pumps will have a competitive advantage on the market. Environmental responsibility is becoming an important factor in purchasing decisions. However, pump motors can be environmentally friendly and deliver the required performance without additional costs.
As is the case with many emerging and new technologies that become quickly and widely adopted, regulations surrounding them tend to be slow and struggle to catch up. There are no overarching standardized policies or guidelines that govern the safe use and operation of civilian drones. Some regulations are also hard to enforce (how to you ensure that every civilian user keeps their drone below a certain altitude?).
Our participation in a panel session at CENEX-Low Carbon Vehicle (LCV2021) elicited some serious interest and we’re more confident than ever that our system will change the fate of electric propulsion.
